Canadian Museum of Civilization: History of the Vote, Canada Hall's Frontier Resources (Oil Rig) I've chosen to highlight two projects I did earlier in my career for the Canadian Museum of Civilization that remain on-site and relevant today. The History of the Vote Game was presented in 3 forms: in-gallery at a kiosk, online from the Elections Canada web site, and via CD-ROM distributed to educators. Mimicking the format of the Who Wants to Be A Millionaire game show, players were able to learn about the vote via game-play. If they made it to the end they printed out a personalized certificate. The famliar "call a friend" function from the game show was replaced with a function that brought players to web resources where they could find the answers. The Charles Stalnaker presentation is a touch-screen kiosk (novel at the time). It is the media component of the Frontier Resources Oil Rig that sits in the Canadian Museum of Civilization's Canada Hall. It tells the story of a famous oil shooter. I designed and produced the entire project - editing historical footage, creating new video compositions, editing and enhancing audio, designing the system architecture, interface, graphic design & production, and programmed the product (Flash, Director, Lingo, ActionScript). |
